Very useful tool to help you study for your PPL license. Was highly recommended to me by someone who flys at local flying club and did not disappoint!
Ive downloaded & used four different Private Pilot Test Prep / Knowledge apps and this one by Dauntless is by far superior to anything on the market. I ended-up using it (almost) exclusively for my test prep … its thorough, fantastically illustrated, easy to understand and actually fun to use. Concepts that other apps explain in dry, forgettable language are explained in a "plain english" format that genuinely helped me understand some tough aviation principals in a way that I wont forget. This app by Dauntless has been the single most valuable resource in my aviation training. Buy it. Seriously.
I study by myself at night after work and its hard to stay motivated some nights. This app makes it fun and interesting. Best of all I stay motivated. Thanks!
This is a must-have program for student pilots. The software is easy to use, and the answer reviews are descriptive and accurate. For high scores this this the software you want.
This app is the best .I just passed my ppl written today and this app is the reason.I have other apps that are same in appearance but do not come any where near this one.Awesome app
The iPad app has a pleasing interface, and can be effortlessly configured for continuous learning (with instant explanations) or as mock tests with scoring at the end. Can be easily set to ask questions at random or from a selected subject area(s) to focus on. Explanations are concise, and the whole experience really lets you progress effectively and expand your knowledge quickly to pass the real thing. I was even able to question one of the FAA questions through an easy built-in form, to which a CFI from Dauntless replied almost immediately via email, AND that clarification was integrated into the very next app update! I am lousy with studying and test-taking, but thanks to Dauntless (which my CFI and others recommended) I passed my Rotorcraft Private Written the first time... with a 97%!! It was actually almost fun. Now on to the check ride!!

Some bad moments

Expensive. Vocal teaching works only sometimes and even then almost every question has a different loudness. when I turn off my iPhone and turn it on again all the audio files are gone. Wasted money. Needs a lot of programers work.
The idea of the app is great. Execution not so great. I have limited funds and limited time to study and I just paid $50 for this app, another $20 for the audio and it crashes every 2-3 minutes. Refund my $70
After encountering some problems with the app after using it for awhile, I proceeded to go onto the website only to find that dauntless does not offer a customer service phone number, but only a "helpdesk" option which is basically an email address with no promise of when they will get back with you. They do however give a lengthy explanation of why they dont bother to offer a phone number to call. They also offer an in app upgrade for $19.99 which is the MP3 review of the questions. After downloading this, I found that only about 87 of the questions were offered in MP3 format as opposed to the 800+ questions offered in the app for review. After Submitting a problem ticket, you will receive an email that states "if your message warrants it, you will receive a reply soon." I would think the fact that I purchased an app from dauntless instead of one of the other countless companies that I couldve given my business to would warrant a quick response. They also suggest that you might want to try looking up your issue online. I think for further Apps to purchase, I will use my time searching online for a different company to purchase apps room.
Dont buy this app until they fix the issue with the current version. They say it only affects 5% of customers, but it doesnt work on either my iphone6 or my iPad mini.
Even with version 9.6.2 and many attempts to reinstall app it continues to crash on IPhone 6plus and IPad Mini 2 and when it does open to test questions shows a blank screen no questions whatsoever. Have attempted to resolve through support. No luck! Hopefully gets resolved soon, was a great app.
Ive tried most of the leading test prep apps, this one being the most expensive by a wide margin. The questions are pretty much the same, but the look and feel of this app leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like something from the 90s, full of weird sound effects and puffy clouds that add nothing to the actual learning. You can save yourself a lot of money with one of the other alternatives, most of which are easier to use (and easier on the eyes).
